Mad Dash Mixes and More has been a staple at the Waxahachie Farmers Market for about a decade now.

Owner Julie Copeland is the local seller for Mad Dash Mixes, which range from soups and pasta salads to cheesecake, dips, meat rubs, and cobbler. The mixes help turn dishes into something “wow” for family and friends’ culinary enjoyment.

The “More” part of Copeland’s business name reflects the wide selection of handcrafted earrings and other small items she offers in her booth, such as car diffusers.

Why does this full-time teacher spend her Saturdays year-round at the farmers market?

“I love to interact with people,” says Copeland, adding with a smile, “I also like the extra money.”

Over the years, she’s found plenty of reward with her small business.

“You build relationships with people, and they keep coming back to buy,” she said.

The farmers market, which is located at 701 Howard Road, is open Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. during its primary season, April-October. Hours are shortened slightly during the winter season, November-March, with the market closed in January for maintenance.
