Free webinar offered: Business Setup 101 – Registration & Structuring for Success

The Office of the Texas Governor will host a small business-oriented webinar online from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29. Presented by the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, the online event, “Business Setup 101 – Registration and Structuring for Success,” is intended to help both prospective and existing small business owners learn more about the state’s different business registration and classification types.

“During this webinar, our speakers will discuss the processes of formal registration and registering as an LLC, corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship,” a spokesman said. “Properly registering your business is a crucial step of business development and lays important groundwork to lead to long-term success. Whether you are an existing business owner, are in the process of shaping your business idea, or are ready to take the next step in formally registering your business, this webinar will equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions on the best classification for you and your business.”

The webinar will include information about when and why an assumed name (also known as a DBA, doing business as) certificate should be used. Register for the free webinar here. More small business-oriented events can be found here.
