Free car seat safety class offered at Ennis Public Library

The Ennis Public Library, in collaboration with the Ellis County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, is hosting a free car seat education class for all parents and caregivers at 11 a.m. June 6. The class will be led by certified child passenger safety technician and county extension agent, Danae Hicks.

“This informative session aims to educate attendees on the proper selection, installation, and use of car seats to ensure the safety of young passengers,” a spokesman said. “Participants will learn about Texas car seat laws, common installation errors, and best practices for securing children of various ages and sizes.”

The Ennis Public Library is located at 501 W. Ennis Ave.

“Proper car seat usage is crucial for the safety of our children, but car seats can be confusing and sometimes just hard to understand,” said Danae Hicks. “This class provides valuable information to help parents and caregivers make informed decisions and ensure their child’s safety on the road.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their car seats for hands-on demonstrations and personalized assistance. Space is limited, and registration is recommended.
