Ennis Public Theatre presents 'The Snow Queen' with a run from Dec. 5-14
Tickets are on sale for the Ennis Public Theatre’s production of “The Snow Queen,” directed by Julie Mitchell and Markus Baldwin.
The show is described as “an enchanting adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s classic fairy tale about love and friendship, perfect for the holiday season.”
“The Snow Queen” is recommended for all ages and has a run time of just under an hour. The storyline is of a little girl, Gerda, who searches for her friend Kai, who’s been kidnapped by the Snow Queen. Gerda is aided by a crow and a reindeer on her travels to the far north, where she confronts the Snow Queen in her ice palace.
The red carpet celebration will be held prior to the Friday, Dec. 5, performance, with attendees invited to listen to live holiday music from pianist Gary Mingus. Those wanting to honor their favorite actor during the red carpet celebration may reserve bouquets through Thistle+Sage Floral by calling 972-921-1145.
Of special note, tickets are expected to go fast as “The Snow Queen” has a cast of mostly young artists. Patrons can avail themselves of pay-what-you-can pricing for either of the Saturday, Dec. 6, performances.
Ennis Public Theatre is hosting a collection box for Ellis County Toys for Tots. For every new, unwrapped toy that is brought in, an entry will be given in that performance’s drawing for a free ticket to any 2026 show.
“The Snow Queen” will have eight performances featuring two casts. Evening performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5, Dec. 6, Dec. 11, and Dec. 12. Matinees will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6, Dec. 7, Dec. 13, and Dec. 14.
