TSTC's North Texas campus holds fall commencement
RED OAK – With more than 1,500 graduates completing their programs this fall semester, Texas State Technical College continues to play a critical role in strengthening the Texas workforce. More than 50 students graduated from the North Texas campus on Monday, Dec. 8.
Over the past 10 years, TSTC has produced more than 34,000 skilled graduates across its campuses statewide, underscoring the college’s commitment to preparing Texans for in-demand, high-paying careers and supporting the state’s growing industries.
Many of TSTC’s fall graduates are already stepping into new careers, with job offers from Eastman Chemical, Envoy Air, NextEra Energy, Oncor, and Schneider Electric. These early placements highlight the strong demand for TSTC-trained talent and reinforce the college’s 94% job placement rate.
“At TSTC, commencement is so much more than a celebration of completion. Instead, it’s the beginning of a prosperous career that brings our students to our college in the first place,” said Mike Reeser, TSTC’s chancellor and CEO.
TSTC scheduled commencement ceremonies at seven locations this fall, beginning in Harlingen on Dec. 2 and ending in West Texas on Dec. 19. Many of the college’s industry partners are represented on stage at the ceremonies and congratulate their newest employees on earning a degree or certificate.
In North Texas, Provost Marcus Balch said commencement is an exciting time not only for the students, but for the college’s faculty and staff.
“I am very proud of all that the graduates have accomplished during their time at TSTC,” he said. “Their dedication, hard work, and resilience have brought them to this important milestone. I am looking forward to watching them go out into the workforce and achieve incredible success in their chosen careers.”
Luis Rivera is a Computer Networking and Systems Administration graduate who was also part of the MEI (Mechanical, Electrical, and Information) Technology Data Center Pathway program’s first cohort. He received the Provost’s Outstanding Achievement Award in addition to his associate degree from TSTC.
