Tickets on sale for EPT's 'Into the Woods JR' production
Tickets are on sale now for the Ennis Public Theatre’s presentation of “Into the Woods JR,” which is the theatre’s 2026 Young Artists Program production.
“With a large cast and lots of family and friends purchasing tickets, the Friday Red Carpet Celebration and the matinees will fill up first, so don’t delay,” a spokesman said. “Please call the box office for assistance if you need help booking your seats, to seat a large party, or if someone in your party has mobility issues.”
“Into the Woods JR” is an adaptation of the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical especially written for younger actors. The show itself is recommended for ages 10 and older.
“Be careful what you wish for as this cockeyed fairytale comes to life,” the spokesman said. “[The musical] features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and the witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
“The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk,” the spokesman continued. “When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.”
Choose from shows at 7 p.m. June 18, 19, 22, 23, and 24, and 2 p.m. on June 20 and 21. Show times are 30 minutes earlier, and two matinees are being offered.
The production is directed by Julie Mitchell and Markus Baldwin, with musical direction by Jason Gadberry and Sheila Herod.
