South Metro Weather celebrates 10 years of local weather coverage this Saturday at Railyard Park

Meet up with Ellis County’s own weatherman, Kevin Crouch, from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, when South Metro Weather celebrates 10 years of local, reliable weather coverage with a special event at Railyard Park in downtown Waxahachie.
“I’m thrilled to celebrate this milestone with the community that has supported me through this journey,” Crouch shared with In The Know Ellis. “From my family and friends to the sponsors and the fans, they’re all part of the success of this brand.”
Crouch began his weather journey in October 2015 with a simple Twitter account, Ellis County Weather. Two months later, a tornado struck Ellis County, and the requests for updates and information led him to expand to Facebook. Countless livestreams and weather-related updates later, Crouch now serves Ellis, Hill, Johnson, and Navarro counties.
“Kevin’s Weather Bash” will celebrate the now 10 years of those services with a fun, family-oriented event that will include food trucks, trivia, meet-and-greet, DJ Alexx, and more.
“I’m a seventh-generation resident of Ellis County, so giving back is a huge priority for me,” Crouch said. “This is my chance to celebrate not only an anniversary, but all who made it possible.”
He encourages people to stop by and take part and promises an event that’s “both fun and informative.”
“I hope people leave proud of what we’ve accomplished together and better prepared for what Texas weather can bring,” said Crouch.
