Glenn Heights back-to-school bash set for Aug. 9
GLENN HEIGHTS, TX – For Glenn Heights’ students heading back to school, make the city’s Back-to-School Bash on August 9 from 8 a.m. to noon your first stop to meet new friends and pick up school supplies.
The Back-to-School Bash will be held at Glenn Heights’ City Center, 1938 S. Hampton Road. Students, and teachers will find free school supplies, a kid’s zone, touch-a-truck, health screenings & physicals, a blood drive, raffles & giveaways, and much more.
“Students and teachers can receive free backpacks while supplies last,” said Glenn Heights Mayor Sonja A. Brown. “The items will be distributed on a 'first-come first-serve' basis so come early and enjoy the morning.”
The school supplies are reserved exclusively for Glenn Heights residents. A physical ID with a Glenn Heights address is required to receive supplies with a limit of four backpacks per household.


For teachers, there is a limit of 10 backpacks.
Students in Glenn Heights attend both Ellis and Dallas County ISDs. Ellis County students attending school in Red Oak will begin their first day on Thursday, August 14. Dallas County students attending DeSoto ISD will begin their first day on Monday, August 11.
