Free car seat inspection event at Ennis Regional Medical Center

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, in partnership with Ennis Regional Medical Center, will offer a free car seat inspection event from 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 6, in the hospital parking lot, 2201 W. Lampasas St., Ennis.
“This event is a great opportunity for caregivers to get peace of mind and potentially life-saving information,” said Danae Hicks, family and community health agent with AgriLife Extension. “Four out of five car seats are used incorrectly, so having a professional check your installation can make all the difference.”
Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on-site to inspect car seats, ensure proper installation, and provide hands-on education to parents and caregivers. The goal is to help families travel safely by making sure every child is properly secured in the right seat for their age, weight, and height.
The inspection is free and open to the public. No appointment is necessary; just drive in with your car seat and child, if possible.
“Having your child at the event is so important,” Hicks said. “We want to make sure that your seat is installed correctly, but also that the seat fits the child as well. Do you have a baby on the way? We’re happy to help you learn about your car seat, how to install and adjust it for your upcoming bundle of joy.”
