Crape Myrtle Festival slated for July 3-4 in Waxahachie
The city of Waxahachie holds its 28th annual Crape Myrtle Festival on Friday-Saturday, July 3-4.
The event begins Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Waxahachie Sports Complex, 151 Broadhead Road, with a free concert featuring the ZZ Top tribute band, ZZ Tex, at 7:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.
Saturday will see the veterans’ breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Getzendaner Memorial Park, 400 S. Grand Ave., with the 4th of July parade kicking off at 10 a.m. The parade will travelli from the park to West Main Street before turning right (to the east) to head to downtown Waxahachie.
After the parade, take part in the Waxahachie Downtown Merchants Association’s annual Liberty & Lemonade Stroll.
“Enjoy a festive afternoon of shopping, dining, sipping, and strolling through our historic downtown while supporting local businesses,” a spokesman said.
The stroll will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
