May the “4th” be with you and come Live the Fantasy and celebrate Spring at Scarborough Renaissance Festival® (Scarborough Faire®) this weekend – May 3 & 4, 2025. Cosplay fans, Cottagecore, DC, Marvel, Anime, Steampunk, and fantasy enthusiasts of all kinds; this weekend is just for you with fantasy costumes being the attire of choice! Note that family-friendly costumes are always welcome but not required.

At 12:00 pm each day there will be fantasy-based costume contests for adults as well as separate costume contests for kids 12 and under at the Festival’s Royal Pavilion Stage. At 2:30 pm each day children can participate in the fanciful Fairy Initiation Ceremony at the Festival’s Royal Marquee and receive their very own fairy wand! No pre-registration required for either event.

Returning for 2025 is the tremendously popular Fandom Trivia! At 3:00 pm each day, adults are invited to bring their own team (of up to 6 people) or create a team on the spot at the Lady Hawke Stage for a 30-minute game of team trivia. Test your knowledge of all things fantastical, from sci-fi to mythology, comic books, to Ren Faires. No registration required, just come join in the trivia fun!

This weekend is also the Spring Celebration at Scarborough Renaissance Festival® (Scarborough Faire®) in commemoration of May Day. Visitors can join in the fun along with the Festival’s performers by donning colorful flowers to welcome in Spring.

“Costumes are always welcome at Scarborough, but this weekend is focused on the fantasy realm, and we invite everyone to come show off their cosplay alter-egos!” Says Helaine Thompson, Director of Marketing & Communications of Scarborough Renaissance Festival®(Scarborough Faire®). “It will also be one of the best people watching spectacles of the season with comic book, movie, and sci-fi characters joined by fairies, gnomes, and all other manner of fantasy creatures everywhere you look!”
